Pamela Anderson Is PETA's Person of the Year

Pamela Anderson has been honored for her tireless work to end animal cruelty - she's been named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)'s Person of the Year. The former "Baywatch" beauty was awarded the title after a year in which she drew attention to animal rights issues by speaking to students at the U.K.'s prestigious Oxford University, posing for pictures with her body painted in butcher markings, and filming a TV commercial in which she strip-searches plane passengers for hidden furs and pelts.

The vegetarian actress/model also adopted stray dogs from an animal shelter and called on leaders in India to ban the country's
"unspeakably cruel" trade in leather. And her efforts to promote the cause have now been recognized by officials at PETA, who named her their Person of the Year for 2010 on Friday, December 31.

A spokeswoman for the campaign group tells WENN, "For years, Anderson has been penning letters and posing in ads for PETA U.K.'s American affiliate in order to raise awareness of cruelty to animals and demonstrate how easy it is to avoid contributing to animal suffering."

Pamela Anderson's Racy PETA Ad Banned in Hong Kong Airport

A racy animal rights advert featuring Pamela Anderson has been banned from another airport after officials in Hong Kong deemed the promo too risky. Anderson is seen posing as a scantily-clad member of airport security staff in the clip for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

She is shown stripping passengers, including star Steve-O and comic Andy Dick, of their leather, fur and other animal products as they pass through security checks. It was banned from Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts in November and now chiefs at Hong Kong's airport have refused to screen the ad, because it was "considered inappropriate" and might offend
some visitors, reports the AFP.

The promo was banned from all three New York City airports by officials last year amid fears it was not suitable for passengers with young children.

Pamela Anderson's Latest Tax Bill Paid Off

Pamela Anderson's publicist is playing down reports the actress/model is facing another tax dilemma, insisting a new claim has already been settled. The former "Baywatch" star has been hit with a number of tax issues in the last 18 months, and TMZ.com reports she was handed another federal tax lien for $180,000 in November.

It came a year after the State of California filed a separate tax lien against her for $493,144. Anderson responded to the 2009 lien, stating, "Mistakes may have been made in calculating taxes owed and we are now in the process of ensuring that any taxes owed are paid."

And her rep tells the website her latest lien has been paid.

Pamela Anderson Cried The First Time She Posed For Playboy

Pamela Anderson Cried The First Time She Posed For Playboy

Pamela Anderson may be known for her flamboyance (in these pictures she’s on-stage with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who’s the host of India’s ‘Big Brother‘), but she wasn’t always like that. She says she cried when she first posed for Playboy.
“I was so confused. I told me mom about the offer and she said, ‘Do it. I’d do it.’
“I was so shy I was sick. They got the cover in the first roll of film because I was in tears thinking, ‘Oh my God, this woman, she touched my boob, this is not for me.’
“And then, after a while shooting, I became so comfortable they had to stop before I walked out of the studio door nude.”
I can’t even imagine- lol. Pamela just did her record-breaking 13th Playboy cover (the most covers anyone has done for the magazine), so she obviously got over her shyness.

Pamela Anderson Comes Back Gracing Playboy Cover

Former Playmate Pamela Anderson, who is 43 years old now and a mother of two, poses for the cover of Playboy magazine once again. The "Baywatch" star is featured on the front page of the adult printed publication for its January 2011 issue with an accompanying 8-page nude pictorial.

It reportedly marks Anderson's 13th time of gracing the Playboy cover, more than anyone else in the magazine's 57-year history. She first landed the job as the mag's cover girl in 1989. This time, she is seen wearing a black corset dress, holding up her hands to her hair and looking straight to the camera while standing sideways.

She is channeling Anita Ekberg's character in 1960 movie "La Dolce Vita". Back in October, Hugh Hefner wrote on Twitter, hinting about the cover "Pamela Anderson is in the Mansion swimming pool, posing for the January cover in a tribute to 'La Dolce Vita'."

In the article, Anderson turns into a poet, penning a poem called "Musings from the bed of Pamela". She writes, "Our best isn't good enough -- right now our eyes are far-reaching -- Please let's show the good in us -- The brilliance -- The wonderful -- It's abundant -- it's just not tapped as it should be."

She also gets political, complaining that "all the negative ads run by our politicians" and suggesting them to "put that money to good use" instead. She additionally shows her support for President Barack Obama, "So many are with you. . . I can think of many positive parts of now. . . That you spearheaded."

Pamela Anderson Arrives At Empire Theatre To Perform In ‘Aladdin’

Here’s Pamela Anderson arriving to perform in the Christmas presentation of ‘Aladdin’ at the Liverpool Empire Theatre in England. The former ‘Baywatch’ babe has been VERY busy lately! Not only is she working it on stage, but Pamela Anderson has also taken on a brand new cause.

Pam has aligned herself with No Tanks Coalition, an organization that is working hard to ban oil-tanker traffic off the coast of British Columbia.
