Nicki Minaj certainly seems to be everywhere these days! She is certainly a star on the rise, recently appearing on the cover of V magazine.

Nicki was spotted outside the KISS FM radio station in London, England, looking very, um, pink. I love that she has such an interesting sense of style. Nicki has made it clear that her look is all her, and that she has final approval on everything she wears, but I can’t help thinking that she reminds me of Lady Gaga! What do you think?

What do Nicki Minaj and Ted Williams have in common? Little, except for this: neither wants to be forgotten.

Williams sent this message to America before leaving for rehab this week, while Nicki Minaj says in the latest issue of V:

“I’m an entertainer - I like to make people laugh. Some will hate it and some will love it, but all will remember it. And that’s what I want: to be remembered. Even if I’m saying something hard-core or controversial, there’s always a touch of humor, and if you don’t like it, it means I’m stirring things up inside of you.”

Speaking on her unique persona, the rapper also says: “I would crumple up and die if I had to wake up and be the same person every day."

Nicki Minaj is featured in V Magazine’s latest issue “The Discovery Issue”, which hits newsstands tomorrow.

In it, she shares that despite having a team, she has the final say on everything:

“Everything I do has been approved by me personally. My team is mostly made up of guys, but none of them would ever think about telling me what to wear or what to do with my hair. They know that ultimately I’m gonna do what I’m gonna do.”

On wanting to be remembered:

“I’m an entertainer – I like to make people laugh,” she says. “Some will hate it and some will love it, but all will remember it. And that’s what I want: to be remembered. On being herself, but ever-changing:

What does her success mean? I'm proud that women, female rappers that come in this game after Nicki Minaj can see that, you know what? There is a chance for you to sell just as much as the boys and to be recognized. And you don't have to feel like, because you're a female rapper, you going to not be recognized. Nicki Minaj is certainly an up and coming powerhouse in the music world. And now she’s in the big leagues, getting advice from Kanye West! He does seem to like giving back to the world so maybe this is another way of Kanye helping out

Nicki’s previous mentor was Lil Wayne, who signed her to his label, but seeing as how he spent 8 months in jail last year, he didn’t have time to spent with her. Then she met Kanye through a song they did together.

“When it came to me putting my album out, I was like, ‘I can’t have an album without Kanye. He has to be a part of it.

“He’s become my mentor, he gives me advice, he hits me (with contacts), takes random picturesoffline and says, ‘Oh this is a good picture of you.’ He’s really into fashion so he’s a good person to have a well-rounded conversation with.”

Must be nice for Nicki to already be at a stage of her career where she can say, “I want Kanye to be on this record,” and then actually get Kanye. He’s one of the biggest names in the industry! Not to mention he’s probably one of the biggest divos in the industry too.
